'Light Up the Night' at Ryan Park rescheduled

The city's celebration and dedication ceremony for the upgraded fields at Thomas Ryan Memorial Park, originally planned for Friday night, has been rescheduled due to rain.

The event now is set for 8 p.m. Sunday, May 4. Activities will include a dedication of lighting, scoreboards and other new improvements, and a tree planting in honor of Arbor Day.


Students pitch in for Arbor Day

An early Arbor Day

PTC Carnival is Saturday

Attend the PTC Carnival Saturday, April 19 from noon to 6 p.m. at Prior Lake High School, 7575 W. 150th St., Savage. Admission is 50 cents. Donations go toward the Parent Teacher Child organization in District 719. The event includes games, food and other family-friendly fun.


ECFE classes start April 7

Prior Lake-Savage Early Childhood Family Education spring classes will start the week of April 7.

The center still has class openings. All of the ECFE class descriptions, dates and times can be viewed at www.priorlakesavagece.com, or call to request a mailed brochure.

Carnival leaders put creativity, passion into fund-raiser

With the Parent Teacher Child committee (PTC) Carnival just around the corner, leaders Deb Tribby and LeeAnn Leech are busy swinging hammers and sewing.

It’s the second year the dynamic duo has coordinated the 650 volunteers it takes to put on one of the state’s largest school carnivals.
