The Dakota County Attorney’s Office amended the criminal charges that were filed on April 25 in connection with the fatal hit and run that killed Carlos Noriega of Prior Lake in the parking lot of the Event Center in Burnsville on April 5.

A 34-year-old Prior Lake man was sentenced to serve 65 months in prison for first-degree possession of a controlled substance on April 15 by Scott County Judge Michael Fahey.

Avis Johnson, 74, said she was sleeping soundly when she was awoken by a man digging through her dresser drawers. Johnson said when she awoke, she made eye contact with the man, who was wearing a bandana over his face and had “a crazed look in his eye.”

A 17-year-old Prior Lake boy was charged by the Scott County Attorney’s Office in association with a burglary and assault of a 74-year-old Prior Lake woman in the 16900 block of Lyons Avenue around 2:32 a.m. on April 27.

Police made two arrests as a result of an ongoing investigation of a burglary and assault of an elderly woman in the 16900 block of Lyons Avenue around 2:32 a.m. on April 27.
