An 11-year-old boy is in critical condition after he was hit by a pickup truck while riding his bicycle in Shakopee Monday night.

The boy, whose name has not been released yet, was struck by a hit-and-run driver at about 8:30 on 17th Avenue and Marschall Road.

Police arrested the suspected driver, a Prior Lake man, a short time later on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

The boy was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
