The groundbreaking ceremony for the International Peace Poles Site is set for 3 p.m. Thursday, May 22 at Prior Lake High School, 7575 150th St., Savage.

Sophomore Zach Muench designed a garden area near the student entrance that will serve as the setting for the poles. Muench will plant and maintain the garden as part of an Eagle Scout project.

Volunteers will dig holes and pour concrete for the peace poles that reflect 21 different languages spoken throughout the school community.
