Police calls for May 7 to 14

The Prior Lake Police Department responded to the following incidents between May 7 and 14. This is not a comprehensive list of all incidents to which the department responded.

Accidents

May 7: A hit-and-run property damage accident was reported near Dakotah Parkway and Mystic Lake Drive. A 50-year-old St. Louis Park man ran a stop sign and struck a 33-year-old Jordan man’s vehicle causing damage to the right rear tire and quarter panel. The St. Louis Park man fled the scene and was later arrested for third-degree driving while impaired (DWI)-test refusal, hit and run of an occupied motor vehicle and failure to obey a stop sign.

May 8: A personal-injury car vs. bike accident was reported near St. Paul Avenue and 160th Street. A 41-year-old Prior Lake man was traveling north on St. Paul Avenue approaching 160th Street and hit a bicyclist in the intersection. There were no injuries.

DWI

May 10: A 43-year-old Prior Lake woman was arrested and jailed for fourth-degree driving while impaired (DWI) and making an improper right turn near Langford Boulevard and 180th Street.

May 10: A 24-year-old Lakeville man was arrested and jailed for third-degree DWI and a stop sign violation near Eagle Creek and Duluth avenues.

May 12: A 32-year-old Shakopee man was arrested and jailed for third-degree DWI in the 15400 block of Howard Lake

Theft

May 7: Theft was reported from a car in the Little Six Casino parking lot, 2354 Sioux Trail. It was reported that a purse, phone and personal items valued at $93 were stolen.

May 9: Theft from a vehicle was reported in the 14800 block of Wilds Parkway. It was reported that a laptop computer, cash, headphones and personal items were stolen. The value of the stolen items was $1,820.

Warrants

May 7: A 23-year-old Prior Lake man was arrested and jailed for a probation-violation warrant out of Scott County in the 14200 block of Ash Circle.

May 10: A 20-year-old Prior Lake man was arrested and jailed for a no-proof-of-insurance warrant out of Scott County in the 2400 block of Canterbury Road.

May 12: A 31-year-old Prior Lake man was arrested and jailed for a failure-to-appear warrant out of Scott County in the 14200 block of Fountain Hills Drive.

Liquor law violations

May 9: Police received a call for juveniles loitering in a lot in the 16600 block of Brunswick Avenue. A 17-year-old Prior Lake boy and a 15-year-old Prior Lake boy were both cited for minor consumption of alcohol.     

Miscellaneous

May 8: Police responded to a narcotics complaint at Mystic Lake Casino. A 23-year-old Minneapolis man was arrested and jailed for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance that tested positive as crack cocaine, possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia and disorderly conduct. A 29-year-old Golden Valley man was also arrested and jailed for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance that tested positive as crack cocaine.

May 9: Police responded to a burglary call at Dakota Liquor, 14065 Commerce Avenue. The window was broken out. It is unknown if anything was missing. The case is under investigation.

May 11: Police responded to a narcotics complaint at Mystic Lake Casino. A 46-year-old LeSueur woman was arrested and jailed for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance that tested positive as crack cocaine.

May 11: A 19-year-old Jordan man and a 16-year-old Jordan boy were both arrested and jailed for possession of controlled substances that tested positive as cocaine and marijuana in the 15200 block of Wilds Parkway.

May 12: Police received a report of an assault and robbery in the 16600 block of Highway 13. It was reported that property valued at $80 was stolen. Police are looking for a man described as a 6-foot tall, white male, weighing approximately 175 pounds with a scruffy, light beard. The case is under investigation.
