Creative inspiration is an interesting thing. Sometimes it happens right away, sometimes it doesn't. If there was a magic lamp that granted you creative ideas, I'd be the first in line to use it.

Understanding the creative process, at the onset, will give you a chance to try new things & will always bring you one step closer to creative success. It's so important to allow yourself to relax and let creativity happen in its own time. You can't force it.

Start by knowing that creating art is like solving a puzzle. There's usually more than one way to do things. If you find a way that works for you, stick with it.

The art of bits & pieces mosaic will not only make you feel better, it will allow you to begin creating wonderful works of art with the hidden treasures you've been saving all these years. Because of it's random nature, Bits & Pieces mosaic is a great place to start. Pick a color that you love & follow it through the design.

Understanding how to use your tools and materials will make it possible for you take back a bit of creative control over your projects.

When grouting...always use sanded grout for Bits & Pieces tile projects. Try to stay away from white grout, unless you want your finished piece to look like a camp arts & crafts project. I recommend darker grout, to make the colors of your piece really pop. My personal grout choices are grays & darker browns.
