Mahoney is the daughter of Sue and Jerry Mahoney of Prior Lake. She attended Prior Lake High School and Regency Beauty School. She is a cosmetologist and also works in daycare.

Streefland is the son of Jim and Judy Streefland of Shakopee. He attended Shakopee High School and Bemidji State University. He is the owner of J & S Marine.

An April 4, 2008 wedding is planned at the Church of St. Michael.
