Republicans Kline, Beard, Buesgens win

Republican incumbents representing Scott County easily held onto their seats in Tuesday's election.

U.S. Rep. John Kline, R-Lakeville, defeated DFL challenger Coleen Rowley in the Second District. Kline had 56 percent of the vote; Rowley took 40 percent.

In the race for state representative in District 35A, incumbent Mike Beard, R-Shakopee, took 54 percent of the vote, while DFL challenger Doug Zila pf Prior Lake had 46 percent.

Incumbent Mark Buesgens, R-Jordan, won the District 35B state representative race, with 62 percent of the vote. Challenger Taylor Kristoffe-Jones had 38 percent.

Republican Sen. Claire Robling of Jordan ran unopposed.

In Scott County, voter turnout was 71 percent.
