Scott, Carver and Dakota counties are seeking potential volunteers for their Medical Reserve Corps programs, which train residents to respond in emergencies.
A joint orientation is planned for 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Monday, Oct. 8 at the Dakota County Western Service Center, 14955 Galaxie Ave., Apple Valley.
Medical Reserve Corps volunteers include doctors, nurses and people with other emergency response skills including social workers, counselors, interpreters or clergy. Volunteers with a variety of skills are also needed to help with computer entry, child care, assisting clients or moving equipment.
The program provides eligible volunteers with continuing education credits. Any adult living in Scott County can apply.
