A 36-year-old man from Prior Lake died after his motorcycle was hit by a car shortly before midnight Sept. 30 in Jackson Township.

Wesley Donald Scholer, 36, was traveling east on County Road 78 when hit by a westbound car that was turning south onto County Road 69, according to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office.

The car failed to yield the right of way, officers reported.

Sheriff’s deputies and Shakopee firefighters were called to the scene at 11:33 p.m.

Scholer later died at St. Francis Regional Medical Center in Shakopee.  

The Minnesota State Patrol helped reconstruct the crash scene.

Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
