Starting Wednesday, workers will begin demolishing the former Kop farm house at County Road 44 and Main and Ridgemont avenues.
Crews already took down a garage on the property, Park Maintenance Supervisor Al Friedges said on Monday.
The entire house should be down and removed from the site by June 1, Friedges said.
The city bought the house in the late 1990s from John and Meda Kop, both of whom have since died.
In February, Prior Lake City Council members rescinded an earlier decision to hire a structural engineer to check the house’s integrity, instead opting to demolish the house and save bricks from the home for possible future use in a memorial.
