Zoo to host Amur leopard festival

The Minnesota Zoo will host its first-ever Amur Leopard Festival this weekend, July 19 and 20.

Fewer than 30 Amur leopards remain in the wild, making them the world's rarest cats, the zoo reports.

Cruisin’ on a sunny afternoon

Centenarian Dorothy Garwell of Prior Lake enjoys a boat cruise on the Charles Prior II pontoon Wednesday with 28 other boaters who registered for a chartered tour through the city’s Parks and Recreation program. The 100-year-old resident of McKenna Crossing said she enjoys being on the lake and watching football. "I want to live long enough to see the Vikings win the Super Bowl," she said.
