The Prior Lake girls cross country team finished sixth out of 19 teams at the Irish Invitational in Rosemount on Aug. 29.
The Lakers had two runners in the top 30 in the two-mile race, fishing with 186 points. Lakeville North won the title with 74 points on a tiebreaker with Minnetonka.
Ninth-grader Taylor Scholl had the Lakers' best finish taking 13th overall with a time of 12 mintues, 25.2 seconds. Junior Paige Foster was 29th (12:39.2), followed by ninth-grader Madison Lesmeister (38th, 12:53.7), sophomore Grace Chandler (49th, 13:03.5), ninth-grader Lauren Bruha (57th, 13:12.3), senior Jessica Zwanaiger (62nd, 13:17.7) and eighth-grader Amber Tieman (71st, 13:31.1).
Meanwhile, the Laker boys finished 14th out of 19 teams with 412 points.White Bear Lake won the title with 50 points.
Senior Robert Gorycki was the Lakers' top finisher taking 77th overall with a time of 11:40.0 on the two-mile trek. Ninth-grader Thomas Cunningham was right behind his teammate in 78th (11:40.9), followed by ninth-grader Paul Evans (80th, 11:44.8), junior Joe Fleck (88th, 11:51.2), ninth-grader Josh Schaffer (89th, 11:52.1), sophomore Leo Foote (104th, 12:15.9) and senior Mike Dybvik (117th, 12:43.1).
Both Laker teams will be back in action on Sept. 12 when they compete in the Lakeville Invitational at Aronson Park starting at 4 p.m.
