The Prior Lake boys soccer team raised the bar last season, winning the Missota Conference crown and taking second in Section 2AA.

The question now for the Lakers is, can the team stay among the elite?


Girls soccer: Lakers need to replace lost firepower

The Prior Lake girls soccer team will have to make up for the loss of three players who accounted for 51 percent of the team’s goals last season.

Nicole Ostertag, Whitney Wise and Raelyn Walczak combined to score 24 of the team’s 47 goals in the Lakers’ 10-6-3 season (8-1-1 in the conference).


Volleyball: Lakers have the look of a winner

The Prior Lake volleyball team could easily improve on its 17-win season a year ago.

Lakers coach Mike Dean has a talented cast returning, including the team’s most valuable player last fall in senior Brittni Wangerin.

With help from a developer, the Scott County Community Development Agency (CDA) is proposing to redevelop the corner of Main Avenue and County Road 21 currently occupied by a flower shop and two other businesses.


Girls tennis: Lakers win season opener over South St. Paul

The Prior Lake girls tennis team won its season opener on Aug. 18, sweeping all three doubles matches in a 5-2 non-conference win over South St. Paul.

The Lakers' No. 1 doubles team of Kristen Tusa and Leah Peterson earned a 6-2, 6-2 victory, while the No. 3 team of Bailey Freer and Janessa Anderson also won handily, 6-0. 6-2.

The No. 2 doubles team of Madison Skalecki and Brittany Jaderston won in three sets, 6-1, 4-6, 6-1.
