The Prior Lake Police Department responded to the following incidents between June 17 and 30. This is not a comprehensive list of all incidents to which the department responded.
Accidents
June 17: A 66-year-old Farmington man was working security at Mystic Lake Casino when he drove a golf cart through the parking lot in the 2300 block of Dakotah Parkway and hit the gas instead of the brake and struck a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old New Prague man. There were no injuries.
June 18: A hit-and-run property-damage accident was reported after an unknown vehicle drove through the ditch near 140th Street and Ferndale Avenue and ripped up a recently installed drainage blanket with hydro seed mix. The estimate of damage to replace the material with labor is $3,500.
June 25: A 48-year-old man from Savage was cited for no proof of insurance after being involved in a property-damage crash with a 45-year-old Prior Lake woman near Highway 13 and 170th Street. It was reported that the man from Savage was traveling south on Highway 13 at 170th Street when the Prior Lake woman turned left off of 170th Street onto Highway 13 and was struck. There were no injuries.
June 26: A property-damage crash was reported after a cottonwood tree fell on the vehicle of a 54-year-old Prior Lake woman while she was driving on Pleasant Street near Park Avenue. There were no injuries. Police believe the tree was in a bad state prior to falling in the road. There was not heavy winds or rain prior to the tree falling.
DWI
June 19: A 57-year-old Prior Lake woman was arrested and jailed for third-degree driving while impaired (DWI) test refusal and fourth-degree DWI after police received a report of poor driving conduct in the 3900 block of Green Heights Trail.
June 21: A 38-year-old man from Osceola, Neb., was arrested and jailed for second-degree DWI-test refusal after police responded to a report of a possible drunk driver near Highway 13 and Duluth Avenue.
June 28: A 30-year-old Prior Lake woman was arrested and jailed for DWI by the Savage Police Department after police received a report of an intoxicated driver who struck a sign near Highway 13 and Candy Cove Trail and fled the scene.
June 28: A 51-year-old Prior Lake man was arrested and jailed for second-degree DWI-test refusal, driving after cancellation and no seat belt after police stopped the man for a seat belt violation in the 5000 block of Bluff Heights Trail.
Theft
June 17: Theft of mail was reported in the 14500 block of Shore Lane. The mail was later recovered in a garbage can at Sand Point Park.
June 18: Police received a report of teenagers going through a vehicle in the 5600 block of Cardinal Ridge Trail. The teens took off in a vehicle and police were unable to locate them. There was nothing missing from the vehicle.
June 18: A MP3 player valued at $250 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 5600 block of Cardinal Ridge Trail.
June 19: A gas drive-off of $51 was reported at Holiday Gas Station, 16800 Duluth Ave. The case is under investigation.
June 19: Theft of jewelry valued at $150 and boxes containing items valued at $405 was reported from a home in the 4600 block of Park Nicollet Avenue while a resident was moving.
June 20: Cash and a MP3 player valued at $130 were reported stolen from vehicles parked in an open garage of a home in the 4100 block of Raspberry Ridge Road.
June 20: A mini bike valued at $260 was reported stolen from a garage in the 5500 block of Overlook Circle.
June 20: Theft of a stereo faceplate and CDs from an unlocked vehicle was reported in the 4900 block of Minnesota Street. The value of the items stolen was $180.
June 21: A MP3 player valued at $150 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 4800 block of Erin Circle.
June 22: A purse and its contents valued at $95 were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 16600 block of Franklin Trail.
June 23: Theft of a laptop and a bag valued at $2,100 was reported in the 2300 block of Stonecrest Path.
June 23: Fish locators valued at $1,400 were reported stolen from a boat in the 14400 block of Castlegate Way.
June 23: Cash and jewelry valued at $4,700 were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 14200 block of Brookmere Boulevard.
June 23: Theft of a wallet valued at $15 was reported from an unlocked vehicle in the 14200 block of Brookmere Boulevard.
June 23: Theft of change valued at $20 was reported from an unlocked vehicle in the 14300 block of Brookmere Boulevard.
June 25: Two bicycles valued at $375 were reported stolen from the driveway of a home in the 5800 block of Cardinal Ridge Trail.
June 25: Theft of a GPS and diaper bag valued at $230 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 15000 block of Manitou Road.
June 25: A car stereo system valued at $1,100 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 4300 block of Chestnut Lane.
June 25: An iPod charger and cigarettes valued at $110 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 14200 block of Candlewood Lane.
June 27: A GPS, cash and cigarettes valued at $485 were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 14000 block of Shore Lane.
June 27: Theft of $39 worth of alcohol was reported at MGM Wine and Spirits, 14173 Commerce Ave.
June 27: Radios and a cooler valued at $1,817 were reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 14000 block of Candlewood Lane.
Burglary
June 23: A burglary and theft of cigarettes with an unknown value was reported at Holiday Gas Station, 4460 Fountain Hills Drive. It was reported that a window was broken out and cigarettes were taken. The case is under investigation.
June 25: A burglary and theft of a car stereo valued at $100 was reported after a car that was parked in the garage of the home was broken into in the 15000 block of Manitou Road.
June 25: Golf clubs and golf gear valued at $1,780 was reported stolen after the garage of a home in the 14400 block of Pike Lake Trail was burglarized.
June 25: A burglary and theft of a GPS from a vehicle that was parked in an open garage was reported in the 4500 block of Hummingbird Trail. The GPS was valued at $400.
Warrants
June 20: A 49-year-old Prior Lake woman was arrested and jailed for a Hennepin County warrant for criminal vehicular homicide in the 16300 block of Duluth Avenue.
Liquor Law Violations
June 21: Police received a report of a suspicious vehicle. Police located the vehicle at Holiday Gas Station, 16800 Duluth Ave. A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy, both of Prior Lake, were each cited for curfew violation. Three 15-year-old Burnsville boys were all cited for minor consumption of alcohol and curfew violations.
Miscellaneous
June 19: Police received a report of prostitution outside a convenience store near County Road 83 and Mystic Lake Drive. A 51-year-old Minneapolis man was cited for engaging in prostitution with a person over the age of 18. A 20-year-old woman from Chicago, Ill., was cited for engaging in prostitution with a person over the age of 18, offering prostitution services and loitering with the intent of prostitution.
June 24: Police responded to a report of narcotics at Mystic Lake Casino. A 26-year-old Cottage Grove man was arrested and jailed for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance that tested to be methamphetamine and possession of a small amount of marijuana.
June 25: Police assisted the South Metro Drug Task Force with the arrest at Mystic Lake Casino. A 26-year-old Chaska woman was arrested for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. The controlled substance is unknown by police, as it was a drug task force arrest.
June 25: A 52-year-old Edina woman was cited for leaving a dog in an unattended vehicle after police responded to a call of a dog being left in a vehicle for several hours at Mystic Lake Casino.
June 26: A 45-year-old man from Bermuda Dunes, Calif., was arrested and jailed for fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance that tested to be cocaine and possession of a small amount of marijuana after police responded to a narcotics complaint at Mystic Lake Casino.
June 27: A 39-year-old Lakeville man was cited for driving after cancellation and possession of drug paraphernalia after police responded to a narcotics complaint at Mystic Lake Casino. The man was jailed for two warrants out of Dakota County.
