Police calls for July 23 to 30

The Prior Lake Police Department responded to the following incidents between July 23 and 30. This is not a comprehensive list of all incidents to which the department responded. Accidents July 24: A 70-year-old Minnetonka woman lost control of her vehicle in the Little Six Casino parking lot, 2354 Sioux Trail, drove off the road and struck a bridge overpass. The woman was transported to St. Francis Medical Center with injuries. DWI July 26: A 20-year-old Apple Valley man was arrested and jailed for third-degree driving while impaired (DWI) test refusal near Highway 13 and Rustic Road. Theft July 23: About $500 in cash was reported stolen from a vehicle in the 5800 block of Cardinal Ridge Trail. July 23: A burglary was reported in the 3800 block of Raspberry Ridge Road. It was reported that the suspect broke into a locked home and took items with an unknown value. The case is under investigation. July 25: A bicycle valued at $5 was reported stolen in the 16800 block of Duluth Avenue. July 25: A bicycle valued at $100 was reported stolen from an underground parking garage in the 16900 block of Toronto Avenue. July 26: A gas drive off valued at $62 was reported at Holiday Gas Station, 16800 Duluth Ave. The case is under investigation. July 26: Theft of a wallet valued at $40 was reported at Mystic Lake Casino, 2400 Mystic Lake Blvd. July 27: Tools and change valued at $205 was reported stolen from an unlocked vehicle at Mystic Lake Casino. July 27: Theft of keys and change valued at $105 was reported from a vehicle in an open garage in the 3300 block of Wild Horse Pass. July 27: A fish finder valued at $100 was reported stolen in the 15100 block of Wood Duck Trail. July 27: Theft of a license plate valued at $10 was reported in the 2300 block of Dakotah Parkway. July 27: A cell phone valued at $100 was reported stolen at Mystic Lake Casino. The case is under investigation. July 28: A dog was reported stolen from a vehicle parked in the lot of Mystic Lake Casino. The monetary value of the dog was $1,500. Vandalism July 25: School bus windows were broken in the 3600 block of Berens Circle. The damage to the bus was estimated at $300. Warrants July 28: A 41-year-old Eagan man was arrested and jailed for a failure-to-appear-felony-swindle warrant out of Mower County at Mystic Lake Casino. Driving violations July 24: A 32-year-old Prior Lake man was cited for driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety near Fish Point Road and Blind Lake Trail. Liquor law violations July 23: A 19-year-old Cannon Falls woman was cited for minor consumption of alcohol at Sand Point Beach, 14349 Crest Ave. July 24: A 17-year-old Prior Lake boy was cited for minor consumption of alcohol and tampering with motor vehicles near Overlook Drive and Horizon Trail. A 15-year-old Prior Lake boy was also cited for a curfew violation, possession of marijuana and tampering with motor vehicles. July 25: Two 20-year-old Prior Lake men were cited for minor consumption of alcohol following a traffic stop near Highway 13 and Franklin Trail. July 25: Police received a report of a woman drinking beer while driving near Mystic Lake Drive and Sioux Trail. A 47-year-old Burnsville woman was cited for open bottle of alcohol in a vehicle. Miscellaneous July 25: A 25-year-old Prior Lake man was arrested and jailed for fifth-degree domestic assault, interfering with a 911 call and disorderly conduct in the 16600 block of Franklin Trail. July 27: A 43-year-old Prior Lake man was cited for fourth-degree criminal damage to property and trespassing at Extra Innings Saloon, 16299 Main Ave. July 28: A 44-year-old Prior Lake woman was cited for permit required for a dangerous animal after police received a report of a 13-foot boa constrictor snake that was left outside under a box-type structure with a rock on top of it in the 2900 block of Center Road. Police called the Minnesota Zoo staff after finding the snake and were informed the circumstance was unsafe for both the snake and citizens. The snake was taken by 4 Paws.

The 44 year old woman with...
Back to page topThe 44 year old woman with the snake. Why wasn't she charged with cruelty to animals? The snake was outside all day and all night on a black trampoline mat with at plastic tub over it. No water was provided for it either. That is cruelty even though it was a snake.
