Scott and Carver counties’ transit services merger has a new name: SmartLink Transit.

The merged service also bring some changes to the previous bus services offered in Shakopee, Prior Lake and other Scott County cities. As of Jan. 1, SmartLink transit will be available for pick-up and drop-off between 6 a.m. and 7 p.m. weekdays.

SmartLink also will provide a pick-up window of zero to 30 minutes, allow a vehicle wait time of three minutes, and accept advance cancellations until one hour before scheduled pick-up. Reservation scheduling hours will be extended to 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with advance reservations up to five days in advance.

The BlueXpress service, a joint venture between Prior Lake and Shakopee, will continue to offer express bus service to and from downtown Minneapolis. BlueXpress will add new routes and new pick-up times to its roster. Visit www.bluexpressbus.com or call (952) 496-8800 for more information.
