Tour the St. Francis Sleep Diagnosis Center
September 18, 2007 - 11:34am — Shawn Hogendorf
The community is invited to a free program called “Sleep… From A to Zzzzs” at the Sleep Diagnostics Center, 500 Marschall Road, Suite 220, in Shakopee, on Thursday, Oct. 4 from 7 to 8 p.m. A second class is scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. The program is sponsored by St. Francis Regional Medical Center in collaboration with Shakopee Community Education. Attendees will enjoy a tour of the facility, refreshments and a firsthand look at the technology that makes a sleep assessment possible. To register for the Oct. 5 class, visit www.shakopee.k12.mn.us. To register for the Oct. 11 class call “Ask St. Francis” at (952) 403-2000. A sleep study detects conditions such as sleep apnea, narcolepsy, irregular sleep patterns, restless leg syndrome, periodic leg movement disorder and insomnia. Not being able to achieve a restful and rejuvenating sleep can lead to health problems including high blood pressure and other cardiovascular diseases, depression, memory problems, weight gain, headaches, inability to concentrate at work or school and increased risk for auto or work-related accidents. For more information, visit www.stfrancis-shakopee.com or call “Ask St. Francis” at (952) 403-2000.
