225 Water Street Creative Arts is holding our second Recycled Art Contest in Jordan, Minnesota.

Our last contest was won by 14 year old, Storm Moll of Belle Plaine, Minnesota with her winning entry "Don't throw Peace Away."

We're in search of our next best “Trashformation” artist! The Recycled Art Contest is open to recycled artists ages 10 and older.

Entries will be displayed at 225 Water Street starting September 1st and the winning entries will be announced September 6th and cash prizes will be awarded for the top three finalists.

Pow wow set for Aug. 15-17

The Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community will have its annual pow wow Friday through Sunday, Aug. 15-17, on the pow wow grounds on Dakotah Parkway, south of County Road 42 between county roads 83 and 17. The pow wow will include dance contests, food, fireworks, games, giveaways and a flag raising. Grand entry is set for 7 p.m. Friday, 1 and 7 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5 for the entire weekend with a button purchase. Those ages 60 and up and 10 and under are admitted free. For more information, visit www.ccsmdc.org and look for “Wacipi ’08.”
