About a year and a half ago I did a story about a production company based in Minnesota, Loonatix. They're like hard-core down and dirty rockers. Very angry music they make.

If I recall correctly, one of their songs was about killing their girlfriends either by hanging or decapitating them.

As soon as I heard that song in the underground concert, I was outta there.

On my very first visit to Minnesota about six years ago, I stepped off the plane and headed downtown to Bunkers, where I saw G.B. Leighton -- it was love at first sound.

Whether it's original music or covers, I truly enjoy watching/hearing this band perform and I have become somewhat of a groupie. I've seen them perform more than any other group, I've bought CDs and T-shirts and I have one of Brian's guitar picks -- "Yeah Yeah Yeah"

I interned with Twin Tone in college. It really was amazing how many local musicians represented by Twin Tone influenced bands around the country, and world for that matter.

I have to go with Bob Dylan.
Trampled by Turtles is an upcoming bluegrass band from Duluth who are a lot of fun to see, they too are in my favorites from Minnesota.
I also enjoyed (noticed the past tense) the Big Wu for a long time, but I think they fell apart musically in recent years.
Prince is an easy Minnesota favorite.
You have to repect Soul Asylum and The Replacements.
I also enjoy the live shows of Wookiefoot, God Johnson, who play weekly at the Cabooze, and The New Primatives, who play at Nye's Polonaise every Thursday.
Some of my friends used to play in a band called the Beads, who to this day is one of my favorite Minnesota bands.
I'll keep thinking and add to this later...
