This is great to see someone local get on one of the big national reality programs. And it's great to see the American covering positive stories like these. I've got my DVR set!

As to "Juno," I, too, laughed a lot and loved the music.

In fact, there was so much laughter in the theater when I saw "Juno" that I am planning to buy or rent the DVD to catch the parts I didn't hear because of the laughter. I already bought the CD and it's really fun to have blasting when I'm cleaning the house.

I'm a fan!

Gores - I agree with you on

Gores - I agree with you on this one. I could absolutely drop the "buy stuff I don't need" part of gatherings and just get together for wine and dessert/appetizers with the girls.
I'm much more likely to meet friends for margaritas on a patio in the summer than I am to show up at a cooking party. I bought a can opener at the last one because I knew it was the one thing I might actually use. I skip the jewelry ones completely because a lot of it isn't stuff I'd normally buy, and I would feel cheap/bad not getting something.
Women should have finance parties. We could all put $20-50 into our Roth IRAs, and then drink wine, etc; Sign me up for that event.

I wonder if we could do what Kramer does in an episode of "Seinfeld" and bring the phone books and catalogs back to the store/business that sent them to us! Remember the Pottery Barn catalogs Kramer threw back into the store? I've always wanted to do that.

I couldn't agree more with the phone book rant. I rarely use the one phone book I have, yet I think I've received four at my doorstep in the last year. There should be a way to prevent having items sent to you that you don't want. I've had the very same thing happen with catalogs. There are some I want to get, but the ones I want to decline can't be stopped. It seems it's all or nothing when blocking junk mail. The Post Office said "we're in the business of delivering mail, not blocking it." I tried requesting the companies I didn't want catalogs from to stop four times - didn't work. So, I guess I'm stuck killing trees, then. What a great system. Any suggestions?

My point was that Taylor missed the mark by attempting to (an entire season late, mind you) place the blame on one player for the team's "tanking."
Just as you say the team shouldn't get blamed for Garnett's actions, nor should Garnett get blamed for "tanking" an entire team's season.

Lori - I think you miss the mark with your knock on Taylor. Although he placed a very large foot squarely in his mouth, his overall point was that Garnett (supposedly) took himself out of the lineup, and that the Wolves didn't remove him for the sake of losing games. If Garnett wants to sit out games to heel, or because he doesn't want to take decreased minutes to let young guys play, he can go ahead and do that, but then the team can't get blamed completely for his own actions.

Do these naked subjects have some type of hygiene protocol they have to pass immediately before becoming my table? Who's checking on that, the Health Department? I require my subjects to make sure all cracks and crevice's are clean, don't forget behind your ears too. I'm also a tiny bit disturbed that you've tried this out first hand...? I like the article though, even though it portrays Minneapolis as a naked fest.

It's not classy, no matter how they want to spin this "naked-people-as-furniture trend."
It has shock value and it's creative, but overall, I'd say it's pretty pathetic. That's how people want to get their kicks - at a sushi buffet? Really? Gross.

I guess I'm not sure how to respond to this. At the time Guido was purchased, maintenance free was the only selling point I needed. I was in college and I couldn't picture myself saying phrases like, "I have to get home and let the dog out" or "I have to spend all my money to kennel my dog while I go on spring break" or "It's 90 degrees out, I can't wait to pick up steamy piles of..."
I needed a pet that was a little more independent. I just didn't understand that cats live to be 30 years old.

Those kind of cats sound fun. Multiple vets have referred to Guido as "unathletic". Basically, she lays around all day like Yellow Dog from the movie Funny Farm.

Mark, Mark, Mark.
Cats CAN

Mark, Mark, Mark.

Cats CAN be trained to do tricks but the trick is not to let them know they're in training. You've got to be one step ahead of the cat-itude of your pet.

My cat, for instance, plays fetch with a plastic ball about the size of a golf ball that looks like a neon green cage for a little silver bell.

She will carry it in her mouth to the top of the stairs, drop it down the stairs, chase it and fetch it and repeat. Of course, this is all done on her own and involves no interaction on the part of any human beings and the activity usual ends as soon as someone says, "Hey, look, Skeeter's (short for Mosquito) playing."

Then there's the game that she developed called "Tease the 85-pound German shepherd." It involves walking within 18 inches of the dog, meowing like she's being given a shower and running like crazy for the safety of the bathroom counter.

She outlived the shepherd and has now adapted the game to "Tease the pit bulls" (we have two). The puppy almost caught her once but Skeeter gave her a cross-cut with her clawless paw and left the stunned and confused dog to wonder what had happened. I just have to remember to never close the bathroom door.

As for you, I hope you didn't add insult to injury by using the blow dryer on that poor widdle sweet Boopy.
