I think you misunderstood my rant, love42peace.
I am grateful and appreciative for the rebate, I just think it's a day late and a dollar short. I said that in my second sentence. If I wasn't clear about that, I apologize.
Being grateful and thinking something different could've been done for people who could really use it is two different things.
And I am both of them, grateful and skeptical in thinking that something different could've and should be done.
Your example is exactly my point.
My brother fell in the same category you did.
Without question he could find ways to use the stimulus check, but did he get that help?
No.
My rant wasn't that I didn't appreciate it, but rather that people who could use it didn't get it, or didn't get enough of it.
Sure, I used my rebate to help my family as well, but if someone was facing foreclosure, would it help save their home?
Probably not.
Sure it's a start, but it's not enough. I think other things could've been done that would make a larger impact.
Do I have the answer?
No, and if I did, I would be one popular man.
And with all the peace, love and grooviness available to man, please know that I understand prices cannot and will not stay the same.
So believe me my groovy friend, I'm over it. Way over it, as Peter Griffin of Family Guy might say:)
By the way, I used my rebate check to pay medical bills, so I am more grateful than one might imagine. I'm simply skeptical as well.

This is for Shawn, I am glad to hear you say thank you for your extra money for what ever. I find it rude that you are not happy about it. Me personally I would have been able to do a lot with my rebate, especially for my family. I am lucky enough to pay taxes yet do not qualify for the rebate. I was $132 dollars shy of receiving a rebate. So I would like to say Thank You for being unappreciative for something that not everyone has. Be happy you get the rebate. You must realize that prices can not nor will ever stay the same, get over it.
