First, to Tom, I couldn't

First, to Tom, I couldn't disagree with you more on your statement that Clemens is the greatest pitcheer of all-time, but I'll leave it at that.

While the Mitchell Report is more style than substance, I think it's important because at the very least it helps to start a culture of accountability in baseball. For all that the league has ignored, this forces at least some current memebers to come clean. Look at Brian Roberts and Andy Pettite, already talking about what they did. That's a start.

The coverage of it, like most things in news these days, has been sensationalized and overcovered to the point where people (include myself) lose interest and begin not to care. To me, that doesn't diminish the importance of the report in showing that players can't just get away with everything anymore.

I'd like to point out one thing though ... while I know that the Mitchell Report had no subpeona power, and could have led to many more names, two of the poster children for steroids in the 90's weren't mentioned on the list ... Sosa and McGwire. I found that the most interesting of all. Outside of Andro (which was fully legal in many sports at the time), and Jose Canseco (who I think is certifiably nuts) McGwire has never had any evidence provided that would nail him to the wall. Neither has Sosa.

While steroid use has been

While steroid use has been rampant in sports for my entire life (remember the Russian and Chinese swim teams?) and recreational use of steroids is harmful to one's body, people forget that there ARE legit health reasons to prescribe steroids - especially to athletes.

Just because one "dealer" chose to cooperate, does not mean he is any more believable than the players.

Although I would not be broken hearted if this scandal were to cause Commissioner Selig to lose his job. He has done more, in his tenure as Commissioner, to damage the sport than any of these players have!

I agree, Tom. This $1.4

I agree, Tom. This $1.4 million ho-hum report really is beating a dead horse.

I heard it stated best yesterday when a radio talk-show host said the report was like taking all the books that have been written about Muhammad Ali and re-releasing them in a new format. It may be interesting, but it isn’t anything that hasn’t been written or said before.

There’s a good use of a million dollars. Let’s hype up a report, restate the obvious and play it to death in the media (ESPN).

Upon releasing the report, Sen. Mitchell urged Bud Selig not to reprimanding any of the players named in the report.

Sooo, what was the reason for the report?

And oooo… What will Bud Selig do now?

Continue to turn his head? That’s my bet, as you stated he’s been doing it for years.

Or come down like a ton of bricks on all MLB’s superstars.

I can’t wait to see what comes of this… (I’m being facetious, of course.)

I didn’t learn anything from this report that I hadn’t heard rumors of before (even Roger Clemens rumors have been out there). Look at the size of the guy’s head for goodness sake.

OK, I was surprised to see Rondell White’s name on the report.

Can this guy do anything right?

He sure as heck can’t hit.

I thought steroids were supposed to be performance enhancing, White sucks.

Maybe he has been paying for and injecting a placebo? I think there should be a report done on that.

John Rocker? There’s a surprise. Can you say roid rage?

Barry Bonds? Guilty or not, leave the guy alone, already.

Jose Canseco? So the rat likes the poison, too. I thought Canseco admitted to this six years ago.

Ken Caminiti? What drugs didn’t this guy take.

Rafael Palmero? Yep.

Eric Gagne? Uh huh.

Click here for the full list of “shockers.”

Other than dragging these players names through the mud, what is this $1.4 million report going to be used for.

More importantly, what is going to happen to the value of my baseball cards, now that all my childhood heroes are confirmed dope fiends?

I wonder who Mark McGuire paid to keep his name off the list.

Did Mitchell forget to read the “books” of information about his alleged drug use?

I can’t wait for this “scandal” to die.

And yes, I agree JFK’s assassination was a conspiracy, as well.
