I forgot to mention, too, that if you're interested in checking out this wonder for yourself, you might want to befriend Donald Trump. Airfare to Dubai is approximately $1,500 PER PERSON, and one night in a suite at the Burj al-Arab, the world's tallest hotel, located on one of the islands, can cost up to $28,000. Yep...$28,000 per night.

I've heard of Dubai as a travel destination.

I think it could prove to be a rude awakening for Westerners if they go during Muslim Ramadan - a month of fasting. According to Lonely Planet travel guide, during the month, that changes annually, it's illegal to eat, drink or smoke in public from sunrise to sunset. If you notice discouted hotel rates - I'd take a look at the calendar before booking a trip if you don't follow that tradition.

Usually, I spend most of my vacations eating and drinking (no smoking, though). That would take out two of the major trip highlights right there!
