As I was watching what I am going to call “A Late Night Daily Report” last night, which consumed an hour-and-a half of my time, and spanned from Comedy Central to NBC, the real question in this year’s presidential caucus came to light.
Who made Mike Huckabee?
Anyone who watches Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Conan O’Brien knows there has been a long-lasting feud about just who made Mike Huckabee.
The feud ended in a dirty, backstage physical confrontation between the three comedians last night while O’Brien was filming his show. All the stops were pulled by the grappling comedians including a torch, bricks and a baseball bat, among other things.
But in the end, Huckabee cleared the air. Check out the brawl here.
Here’s the deal.
Colbert says he made Mike Huckabee with the ever-powerful Colbert bump.
But when Chuck Norris was seen backing the presidential hopeful, O’Brien claimed to have been the man who made Huckabee as a result of his Texas Ranger lever.
O’Brien went on to say, he made Huckabee and Colbert, as no one knew who Colbert was until O’Brien put him on the map.
Needless to say this upset Colbert, and his “Nation,” as he clearly made Huckabee with the “Colbert Bump.”
O’Brien and Colbert were going back and forth for weeks when Jon Stewart entered the ring on Colbert’s behalf.
“No one puts baby in a corner,” Stewart said of O’Brien last night.
So Stewart offered up his logic.
If Colbert made Huckabee and O’Brien made Colbert, who made O’Brien?
Well, 1980s MTV footage shows Jon Stewart introducing O’Brien; making Stewart the man who made O’Brien, therefore making Huckabee.
Whew…
What do you think?
Have you been watching the late night feud?
Who made Mike Huckabee?
