Now that the snow has melted, my back yard is one large mud puddle that I don't see drying up any time soon.
My dogs Carl and Lennon seem to have about as much spring fever as I do. The walks in the park and wrestling sessions in my living room, just don't seem to wear them out. Every time I turn around, one of them is staring outside.
I let them out, only to wipe their paws for five minutes so they don't trample mud through the house and eventually to my bed, where they love to sleep.
Does anyone have any advice other than wiping their paws with a towel ten times a day?

Other than putting a series...
Back to page topOther than putting a series of mats down that they have to walk across as they come in the door, towels are probably the best bet.
I'd love to train my dog to wipe his feet, but I think that's wishful dreaming.
I haven't had dogs in years...
Back to page topI haven't had dogs in years but when I was a kid growing up, I cut rings of old fabric enough to cover their ankles, and used a ponytail-holder to keep them secure. On the real wet days I'd put a sandwich baggy on too. It took them a few times to learn but coming inside from a romp in the puddles was a lot less stressful for everyone, especially my mom.
That's a good idea acorn...
Back to page topThat's a good idea acorn squash. I can't bring myself to put store-bought clothing on my dogs, or any type of clothing really, but on muddy days, I could see using plastic bags or cloth. Good idea.
Thanks.
Well, to add to that, I sew...
Back to page topWell, to add to that, I sew so I have scraps of fabric all over. Old washclothes are an option too.
