Do you trust your pet food brand?

As more pet food manufacturers voluntarily recall their products in a nationwide investigation of possible toxin contamination, what are your thoughts?

What brand do you feed? Is it part of the recall? Do you trust the manufacturer?

Share your thoughts and concerns here. Also, do you have suggestions for good alternatives for cat and dog food brands that are not part of the recall?

I've been using Science Diet...

I've been using Science Diet for Baxter. It was recommended by my dog's vet. While it's a little more expensive than some dog food, I think it's worth it since he has a touchy stomach.

The vet said prices at Fleet Farm for Science Diet were the cheapest she'd seen locally, but I haven't done an official comparison.

I am going to switch our two cats to Wellness, a natural brand that doesn't use wheat or corn gluten. We're already feeding our puppy this brand.

From what I can gather, the foods without wheat and corn gluten are supposed to be much better for them (sort of like our own diets!) But Wellness is pretty expensive.

Ever since Lennon was a puppy, I have fed him Nutro. I believe Nutro soft food was one of the brands in the original recall, but the hard food was not.

Nutro is on the expensive side, but he seems to like it, and my vet tells me it is a very healthy blend of food.
