With the Prior Lake-Savage Area School District cutting $1.5 million out of its budget, and a possible referendum for tax payers to fund a high-school addition coming this fall, what are your thoughts?
In a recent rant about the 'village' I like the way we had to "do the math". If every family gave $5.oo a week it comes up to less than $250 a year!
I think that is pretty minimal considering our teachers are not only educators but are getting burnt out having to also be counselors, disiplinaries, safety guards etc. We would be telling our teachers that what they do is important and valuable. A dollar a day to keep our kids educated, kept safe, nursed...?
For those who can't support with money, a phone call to your teacher to see if she needs anything goes a long ways!

What kind of future is Prior Lake looking at when educating our youth is compromised? It's not just the families who have kids in the schools who need to donate. It's a community effort. We will all win if more attention is given to help the schools in their crisis. We will all lose if the kids don't get the education they deserve!
