There's a lot to learn about wine, and it's always fun to find the "perfect" bottle. Let us know your favorites (or disappointments) in the journey. I'd like to suggest Solaris Zinfandel, Napa Valley, 2003. Cheers!

Back to page topIf you like white wines, I'd recommend that you try a Riesling. The Germans make some good ones. There's a bottle of Starling Castle made from golden-green grapes grown in the Mosul Valley that's perfect for my next light meal of chicken breast, Caesar salad, etc. Mmmm.
I'm partial to...
Back to page topI'm partial to Chardonnay, and my favorite (and it's cheap - only about $10) is Bodega Norton, from Argentina. They have some reds as well. VERY good wine for very little money.

Back to page topBased on the holiday wine story last week, I tried a glass of Smoking Loon pinot noir. I can understand why local store owners recommend it. It had a stronger fruit taste than some other pinots I've tried, and it would probably please a crowd for a holiday dinner.

I tried Greg Norman Estates Pinot Noir over the weekend. If you can tell, I'm a pinot noir fan. (I'd like to clarify that I was a pinot fan before it was cool after the movie "Sideways" came out...).
My other comment is a wine-related question. Sangria seems to have made a comeback this summer. Does anyone have a great sangria recipe they're willing to share?
