I've heard some buzz about a recent hobby called geocaching. I've never gone, but I think I would really enjoy it.
The premise of the activity is like a grown-up bonefied treasure hunt. Armed with clues, the adventurers look around an area to find a hidden "prize." There are coordinates to help, so a GPS is quite handy. Clues are on a nation-wide Web site for the hidden treasures and people log when they find them on the site. According to the site, www.geocaching.com, there are several in Savage/Prior Lake area.
Does anybody in the area do this? Is it a family adventure or something done with a group of friends? I'd be interested to hear your story (and maybe tag along!)

Back to page topI am an active geocacher and have several caches placed throughout the Southwest Metro predominately in Prior lake and Chaska. I would also recommend anyone interested to go to www.mngca.org . This is the State Geocaching organization and provides helpful information.
