What do you think about the plan for an interpretive center and natural preservation? Should dogs be allowed on the Jeffers conservation easement?

Back to page topI'd like to hear more about the reason to ban dogs from the area. Perhaps, there is an environmental concern that dogs could impact wildlife coming to the area? Or, maybe there are costs to maintain garbage cans so owners can clean up after pets?

Back to page topWhile city staff wasn't entirely clear on the reason, it appeared to relate to the effect dogs could have on wildlife that might be on the property and/or animals the conservation center might have for student programs. Council members were concerned that the "no dogs" rule would be restrictive to walkers using the trail in the non-conservation area, which eventually runs right into the conservation easement.
