I read an interview in which Moore said he didn't include much of the "sensationalized" kinds of scenes in "Sicko" that he has in past films (i.e. Michael confronting CEOs on camera) because he wanted people to realize that to change the way things are, they need to do something about it themselves rather than rely on people like him to do it for them.
Though his comment sounds a bit egotistical, I also think it's accurate. It's easy to sit back and say, "Go Michael Moore and others like him - they can change the system for us!" But it's much, much harder to actually get involved and try to make changes on our own.
I actually don't even really know where the average person would start to try to make changes in the health-care system. Any ideas?

Back to page topI too have enjoyed Michael Moore's films "Bowling for Columbine," "Roger and Me" and "Fahrenheit 911."
I also plan on seeing "Sicko."
Moore is a bleeding-heart liberal who hate George W. Bush, but I think his films are very good at "stirring the pot" if you will.
I am interested to see what he exposes about health care, what his take on the issue is and what he proposes we as a country do about fixing it.
It is sure to be dramatic, left-leaning and controversial, but that is what Moore is good at.
