The 25th annual National Night Out is set to take place on Tuesday, Aug. 5.
Police are offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the prosecution and conviction of a person or persons involved in vandalism and thefts at the water treatment facility, 16335 Itasca Ave.
The case of vandalism and theft is an active investigation.
The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) and the Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3), have received reports of recent spam e-mails spreading the Storm Worm malicious software, known as malware.

A 20-year-old Prior Lake man who fled police both in a vehicle and on foot July 22 was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance and fleeing police by the Scott County Attorney’s Office.

When Michael Benjamin graduated as valedictorian of the Prior Lake High School class of 1993, he was also voted, “most intelligent” “most likely to succeed” and “most likely to change the world.”

Mickey Chacich of Prior Lake was on the Minnesota Sting93 14U softball team that won the North American Fastpitch Association national tournament July 23-25 in Crown Point, Ind.
The team outscored its opponents 73-18, winning all three of its pool and five straight in bracket play. The Sting ended its summer season with a 47-14 record.

Chelsea Pettit of Savage took second in the 1,500 meters at the 2008 USA National Junior Olympic Track & Field Meet July 22-27 in Omaha, Neb.
Pettit competed in the young women’s division and finished with a time of 4 minutes, 49.5 seconds. Pettit will be a junior this fall at Holy Angels. Last spring, she took third in the 1,600 and sixth in the 3,200 meters at the Class AA state meet.
