Police made two arrests as a result of an ongoing investigation of a burglary and assault of an elderly woman in the 16900 block of Lyons Avenue around 2:32 a.m. on April 27.

Eric Halstrom of Prior Lake will be the first to say he has a fear of horses. Ironically, horse racing plays a large role in his life.

Duluth Avenue will be closed Tuesday, May 6 to so public works employees can complete bituminous repairs to the intersection of Duluth Avenue and County Road 21 (Eagle Creek Avenue).

Results of a survey gauging public views on a school referendum will go to the Prior Lake-Savage Area School Board for review on Monday, May 19.

The board will meet at 6 p.m. at the District Services Center, 4540 Tower St., Prior Lake, to discuss the results of the survey conducted by Springsted Inc.

Funeral services for Duane Arlo Lenning, 73, of Prior Lake, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, May 2, 2008 at Zion Lutheran Church in Odin, Minn. with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 1, from 4-7:30 p.m. at Sturm Funeral Home in St. James and one hour prior to services at the church.

Della Mae Peik, 92, of the Prior Lake area, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008 at Community Assisted Living in Shakopee.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 30, from 4-8 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home in Prior Lake and also at the church one hour prior to services on Thursday.

Funeral service will be Thursday, May 1, at 11 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church in Lydia.

Prior Lake-Savage Area School Board members officially approved the selection of Sue Ann Gruver, the district’s next superintendent, on Monday.

Gruver will take over in July, replacing Superintendent Tom Westerhaus, who resigned after Chris Lind was elected to the board this fall.
