The big news is that the sheetrocking, including taping and sanding, is DONE! I had hoped we would be closer to finishing by New Year’s Day, but it is great to reach this milestone in the project.

Firefighters responded to:
Ernest Larson, 66, of Little Canada, Minn. and formerly of Prior Lake, died Tuesday, Dec. 23, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul of a brain aneurysm.
Private internment to take place in the spring on the home farm in South Dakota.
Diana Chrz, of Prior Lake, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008.
Funeral service is Saturday, Jan. 3, at noon at Cross of Peace Church, 1506 Wood Duck Trail, Shakopee. Visitation is two hours prior to the service at church.

The Laker Hall of Fame committee is now taking nominations for 2009 inductees and a 2009 Team of Distinction.
The Hall of Fame recognizes deserving graduates and members of the Prior Lake-Savage Area community for their accomplishments while students at the high school or as adults.
Steven C. Warner, 62, of Prior Lake, passed away Sunday, Dec. 28, 2008 at his home.
Visitation will be Thursday, Jan. 1, from 5-7 p.m. at Ballard–Sunder Funeral Home, 4565 Pleasant Sreet S.E., Prior Lake. There also will be visitation at the church one hour prior to services.
Funeral services will be on Friday, Jan. 2, at 11 a.m. at Wooddale Church, 6630 Shady Oak Road, Eden Prairie.

The first court hearing for Charles Anthony “Tony” Maddox was continued until Jan. 7 at 1:30 p.m. in Scott County District Court.
During the first court hearing the court may address his bail amount and schedule a date for the omnibus hearing.
Maddox, 43, of Prior Lake has been charged with one count of second-degree murder, without premeditation, in the death of his wife, Ruth Anne Maddox. He faces a maximum of 40 years in prison.
